Sewing boxes
Definition
- Storage box with storage elements for items needed for sewing, embroidery, upholstery, knitting, etc. Inside they hold pin and needle pads, pin boxes, thread bobbins, skein bags, etc. They can consist of a basket, a box, a small piece of furniture with drawers or a simple cloth wrapper with pockets. The first sewing were boxes. The most common opened by lifting the top board, which gave access to one or more drawers and often included a mirror, as well as a bag accessed from the inside and a tray at the height of the supports.
