Definition

  • n. Technique that can be applied to wood, fabric, leather or other materials. It consists of the application of numerous coats of lacquer, each of which is allowed to dry before the next coat is applied, resulting in a high gloss surface. Coats of two or more colours can be combined to create a finish similar to woodwork varnish.
