Definition
- Graphic design is a profession, academic discipline and applied art, whose activity consists of designing visual communications aimed at conveying specific messages to targeted social groups, where the use of text and graphics to communicate visually is common. It is based on the principle of "form follows specific function". Graphic design is an interdisciplinary branch of design, whose fundamentals and objectives revolve around defining problems and determining objectives for decision making through creativity, innovation and lateral thinking together with manual or digital tools, transforming them for their proper interpretation. This activity helps to optimise and improve graphic communication. It is also known as visual communication design and visual design.
