  • A set of several overlapping sheets of paper which, when wet, adhere to each other by compression and then dry by evaporation. It can also be made directly with paper pulp until it reaches a certain thickness. Currently, various types of paperboard are manufactured and their characteristics depend on their composition. It can also exist different types of board depending on the manufacturing process, such as homogeneous board, which has the same composition, and heterogeneous board, when the outer layers are different, usually to improve its quality. Nowadays, cardboard is used for a variety of purposes, for example, to make packaging, packing, insulation, etc. In artistic techniques, cardboard has been widely used as a support for paintings and drawings, as well as paste for book bindings.
