Definition

  • This term applies to a variety of small tables intended to contain a tea service and other items used to serve tea. It may have a cover that can be raised to be used separately as a tray and different compartments. Since the 18th century there have been many types of tables intended for this use. They are usually made of wood and are sometimes decorated.
