Definition

  • A low, generally folding seat used for the audience to sit and watch theatrical performances, cinemas, musical events... It may be made entirely of wood, although nowadays they are upholstered and cushioned to provide comfort. They have arms that may or may not be upholstered. Initially they were made as individual seats, but nowadays they are continuous seats joined by rows.
