Basin stand
Definition
- A unit consisting of a waist section with or without a shelf, mounted on legs, in which a pull-out washbasin is placed for washing. The central section may have one or two shelves or ring to hold the basin, and often shelves for a pitcher and chamber pot beneath to hold the water or toiletries and towel rails on the sides. The basin stand may include a top mirror and may be closed by a top opening.
