A complete explanation of the intended meaning of a concept- An open-back side chair with an American adaptation of the Sheraton style. They are usually black with stencil decoration imitating the gilding and lacquering of furniture imported from Europe. Sold and developed in the mid 19th century by Lambert Hitchcock in Connecticut.
