Definition

An elongated wooden element, arranged vertically that forms part of the structure of a piece of furniture. It is assembled on the horizontal beams to form frames where the panels are assembled. Also used in architectural elements, such as jambs or doors, that end in a tenon, to assemble the horizontal elements that form a frame.
