Definition

  • Low bookcase with a square floor plan and a prismatic or pyramidal shape. It has shelves open to the four fronts limited laterally by uprights and divided by fixed panels or by movable crosspieces. These libraries sometimes rotate on a central axis and are usually placed on swivel castors to facilitate easy movement. Its origin comes from from the Victorian period in England.
