Definition
- Corresponds to the sinuous S formed by certain pieces of furniture. It is applicable to pots, chain brackets or any line that is used to embellish the piece. The "S'' can be simple, double or compound. For example, it is the characteristic line of the cabriole pot and of the carved part that joins the cross pieces of the upper part and of the seat during the Queen Anne period.
