LC1 Chair

Definición

  • This chair is one of the most iconic chairs designed by the Bauhaus school. The chair is the first furniture design by the architect Le Corbusier, and was made in collaboration with Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand in 1928. It was inspired by the wooden folding chairs used by British officers, although the use of steel and leather was a break with the earlier, more widespread use of wood. Despite its straight lines, the design is characterized by its comfort and convenience. This is mainly because its tilting backrest allows the user to choose the most comfortable posture. The seat, armrests and adjustable backrest are made of Italian leather, although a hair-on version is also available. The base is made of polished chromed tubular steel. Achieving beauty through simplicity, through what is functional, through what is necessary. Manufacturer byThonet Frères, Paris.
