Textile design is the discipline involved in the development of products for the textile industry, such as fibres, yarns and textile fabrics with specific properties and characteristics, in order to satisfy various human needs. It is also concerned with technical textiles, an area in which specialised fabrics are developed for medicine, architecture, engineering, sports and in clothing, etc.
